Everyone wants creative spaces in which to work, but few place importance on how the design of the space can affect the creative process.  Spaces, and the culture they create, can ‘Make or Break’ the creative process; presenting opportunities for innovation and creative collaboration, or limiting these interactions through poor architectural fit with their inhabitants.

There is no one size fits all for the design of creative spaces, as each space must suit its client’s unique needs; but there are consistent design principles that are often present in successful creative offices.  Using the Google Tannery Project as a case study, this presentation will explore the design process, how it was translated into architecture, and how the space has been managed since move-in, exploring best-practice design principles for creative offices and how they could apply to a variety of work environments.
